Mary Ellen LapsanskyMs. Lapsansky joined The Fragrance Foundation in 1989 as Communications Manager.  She became Director of the Foundation, a newly-created position, in 1994 and was appointed Executive Director in 1997. In June 2008 she was promoted to Vice President by the Board of Directors. She reports directly to Rochelle Bloom, President of the Foundation and works with her to establish and maintain the goals set forth by the Foundation.

She oversees the development, planning and promotion of the Foundation’s seminars and events.

She is responsible for coordinating the expansion of the Foundation and works closely with the Foundation’s legal counsel to register the Foundation’s marks and establish Fragrance Foundations licensees around the world.

Each year she coordinates and participates in the International meeting in Monaco of all Fragrance Foundation licensees and potential licensees.

She has also been instrumental in the development and promotion of the Foundation’s Certification Program for fragrance sales specialists and works closely with the Certification Advisory Board on all aspects relating to the implementation and expansion of the Program. In 2007, she worked with industry experts on a new Entry Level Fragrance Course for part-time and temporary sales associates and in 2008 and oversaw the launch of an Advanced Certification Program.

She works in tandem with the Executive Director of the Sense of Smell Institute to implement consumer outreach initiatives via public interactive events, publications and the internet.

Prior to joining the Foundation, she was associated with Fabergé, Inc. in the Marketing Services Department and Frances Denney, Inc. as Sales Administrator.

Ms. Lapsansky is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women.  She sits on the Advisory Board of FIT's Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing Program as well as the Foundation’s Certification Advisory Board. She is a past member of the Board of Directors of The Annette Green Museum at The Fragrance Foundation.
